I am so glad you're here!
My name is Kory, the person behind the lens at Kory Stevenson Photography. When I am not photographing my amazing clients, you can find me at home with my husband, Jonah, and our 3 year old son, Oliver. Our lives are anything but calm 😅, but we wouldn't have it any other way. I will get more into that in a whole other blog post! Let's keep today photography related.
How did I get into Photography?
I have no exciting story here. When I was on maternity leave, I was feeling like I really needed a hobby AND for it to be something creative. Ever since middle/high school, I have always been really interested in taking photos, and I ALWAYS had my little digital point and shoot camera with me! (Now I would should out my fellow millennials for using these, but they have come back as a trend, so I am sure you all know what they are all about lol!) In 2021 I started offering sessions to friends and families for free to build my portfolio. Pretty quickly those friends were recommending me to their friends, and things snowballed from there! I still get referrals that stem from one of my first ever clients - a friend from high school! Since then I have gone on to specialize in In Home Newborn sessions, Family sessions, and Couples. I do dabble in all sorts of photography though (I LOVE a good branding session), because these days, we don't need a niche! We can create art however it suits us best 🥰
What is my style like?
I love to keep things light and fun during sessions! You will constantly hear me saying "WOW!" or "That is BEAUTIFUL" or "Oh my word, SO CUTE!" whenever you do literally anything in front of the camera! And trust me, I mean it!
I also am a big supporter of you, and your vision! If you have something specific in mind for your photos, I want to hear it! They are YOUR photos, and they are going to be displayed in YOUR home, so let's make them feel like you!
Lastly, I strongly believe that getting photos taken should be an experience that everyone gets to enjoy and experience. I am inclusive photographer who is open to working with families of all types, including those with different needs and abilities. I would love to chat with you if you want to learn more about that!
